On February 20, 2024, the founding assembly of the Association for Banking Law was held in the amphitheater of the National Bank of Serbia (NBS) in Belgrade. By adopting and signing its statute, the first association in Serbia dedicated to the promotion and advancement of banking law was officially established.
The assembly gathered numerous experts from the fields of economics, banking, law, and advocacy, including professors, lawyers, executives, and bank employees, as well as representatives from the National Bank of Serbia. Dr. Jorgovanka Tabaković, Governor of the NBS, officially opened the event, stating:
“This is a historic day for Serbia. The Association for Banking Law symbolizes professionalism, transparency, and responsibility that we must nurture in our legal and financial systems.”

The founding members include: Bojan Terzić (President of the Board), Zdenka Radičević, Gligorije Brajković, Prof. Dr. Miloš Živković, Prof. Dr. Marija Karanikić Mirić, Nikola Lapčević, Tamara Kostić, and Boris Lazić.
Bojan Terzić, Chairman of the Board and Director of the Financial Consumer Protection Sector at NBS, emphasized that the establishment of the Association represents a significant step in creating a legal infrastructure that supports the stability of the banking sector.
“The Association for Banking Law will serve as a key platform for the exchange of knowledge, ideas, and experiences, not only in Serbia but throughout the region,” Terzić noted.
The Association was founded as a platform for knowledge exchange, expertise sharing, and professional dialogue in the field of banking law. Its primary goal is to encourage the improvement of the legal framework and practices in the banking sector, with a focus on transparency and legal security.
